Cilla: Chapter 1/Part 2
24 Hours Earlier
I hold a lit candle in my hand as I feel a breeze pass beyond the darkness. A smile crosses my face as the smell of people fills the air. But one, in particular, catches my eye. I turn to my right and see a man with dirty blonde/brown hair. He smiles at me, and I smile back. If only he knew what he just did.
The man slowly walks toward me. I stand there ignoring him beside me.
“Do you always come out here alone?” The man asks as I catch him staring at my brown hair and white dress.
“I could ask you the same question.”
The man laughs. “Yeah, I guess I had that one coming. I’m Will.”
“Do you want me to drive you home? It’s not safe out here.” Will asks.
I blow out the candle and turn towards him.
“I would like that. You have no idea how helpful you’ve been.”
Cilla: Chapter 2/Part 1
I’m sitting next to Will in the passenger seat when the car stops in front of a big house.
“Home sweet home,” Will says looking at the old house.
“Thank you,” I say taking off my seatbelt.
“Do you live here all by yourself?” Will asks curiously.
“Yes, it’s just me,” I answer back.
“Huh, Well, you seem young to live in a big old house by yourself. ”
“Don’t let how young I look fool you,” I tell Will while getting out of the car. Will climbs out of the car too.
“What are you doing?” I ask.
“I’m walking you to the door.”
I keep quiet as I start walking to the door. After a few seconds, we both stand there at the door staring at each other not saying a word.
“Since you’re already here, would you like to come in?”
“Uh…” He hesitates.
“Just for a little,” I say convincing him.
I open the door and let Will go first. I shut the door and lock it with a key from my pocket.
“Where’s the light?” He asks.
“Oh, I meant to get that fixed.”
Will stares at me freaked out.
“Don’t worry, just relax,” I say smiling as I walk past. Before Will notices, I grab his phone out of his back pocket.
